In this exclusive Q&A, Nicole opens up about creative fuel, dreaming in patterns, and why your pillowcase might just be your best style secret.
Q: What's your go-to creative fuel when you're designing? Latte, matcha…spill the tea!
Nicole: Chardonnay, of course! I’m not a big coffee or tea drinker but by the afternoon, you’ll usually find me sipping a Green Bee sparkling water in ginger lemon. It’s the perfect little pick-me-up.
Q: Do you ever dream in patterns? Like, literally wake up with a new print idea? How do your design ideas come to you?
Nicole: I’ve definitely dreamt of designs before though it’s usually the silhouette that appears to me, not the print. My inspiration tends to come from everywhere: travel, music, and pop culture all spark ideas in unexpected ways. Sometimes a city I’ve visited, a song I’ve been listening to, or even a film will influence the shape or attitude of a piece.

Nicole: They’re always talking to my left ear—I’m a dedicated side sleeper. My pillowcases have probably heard more late-night ideas than anyone else!
Q: What's one piece of fashion or beauty advice you'd give to women who want to feel more confident in their own skin?
Nicole: Confidence starts with comfort—if you’re tugging, adjusting, or second-guessing an outfit, it’s not the one. Go back and find something that makes you feel completely yourself.

Q: If you weren't a designer, what would you be doing instead? (And would you still be this stylish?)
Nicole: My hobby is cooking, though I’m not sure I’d want to be a full-time chef. Maybe I’d dream up a signature snack or a fun food brand instead! I was always good with numbers, but that didn’t sound nearly as exciting as designing. I’m definitely happy I chose the creative path.
Q: What do you hope people feel when they see your designs on their pillow every night?
Nicole: Sweet dreams! And maybe a little inspiration too because who says your best ideas can’t come while you sleep?

I’ve always loved working with silk since it takes color beautifully. From soft pastels to vivid brights, silk gives every shade a richness and depth you just can’t get from other fabrics.
